As a life-long cold sore sufferer, I’ve been trying to find the perfect cold sore remedy for ages. I knew the perfect cold sore remedy was out there…it was a matter of getting serious and discovering it.
Now in case you’re wondering what the “scurvey" quote above is all about, it's what a buddy of mine told me when I returned to school after being absent.
Here’s why:
I was out of school for three days when I was in the sixth grade. I had a horrendous case of cold sores that covered my lips.
Here’s how bad it was: The pain was so intense that I had to eat through a straw. I also couldn’t brush my teeth…I had to sip mouthwash through a straw so that I wouldn’t aggravate the lesions on my lips.
When I returned to school, my lips had huge scabs no cold sore remedy would touch. That’s when the “scurvy” quote took place—when my buddy saw my scar-riddled lips.
So much for asking Tina, the gorgeous girl in my Math class, to the after-school dance!
Since that humiliation, I've tried every cold sore remedy known to man. There are no cold sore cures, just a cold sore remedy that seems to differ per person.
After all, cold sores are caused by the Herpes Simplex virus (not that causes genital herpes) and 50 percent of the population carries it without knowing.
Now my parents were begging me to get a cold sore remedy from a doctor. As a timid sixth grader, I hated going to the doctor’s office (that medicine smell every time I walked into that office made me want to vomit).
My cold sore remedy had to be natural…or over-the-counter. No questions asked.
Believe it or not, I had a lot of luck with my favorite cold sore remedy: yogurt. The acidophilus in yogurt is the perfect cold sore remedy. While my buddies hated yogurt, my mom was packing two strawberry Dannon yogurts in my Snoopy lunchbox every day.
